The Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) was created at UW in 2002 with the goal to bring Greek organizations from marginalized communities under a single, unified council.At Washington and Lee University, about 80 percent of undergraduates are involved in Greek life. Since Washington and Lee only has around 2,300 students total, this makes for an extremely strong impact on the social scene. At the University of Georgia, about 23 percent of students are involved in Greek life within a population of over 27,000 ...The purpose of the Washington State University Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) is to cultivate the growth of each member organization by serving as a unifying body for culturally-based fraternities, sororities and like entities while striving to improve community life through service and education. At the UW all of our IFC fraternity chapters have houses. In some instances some chapters will have multiple houses. These can vary from the main chapter house to live-out where older members tend to reside. Most new members are expected to live in the main house once school starts, however some are more flexible with this.

Through the unique perspective of gender and sexuality, our students and faculty analyze inequities in society and work toward social justice and change.
